China played host this week to leaders from 53 African nations at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The event climaxed with a $60 billion pledge of aid, investment and loans from President Xi Jinping. But is it too good to be true, and is China creating a dynamic underpinned by debt and dominance?
