U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Thursday that cooperation among Japan, South Korea and the United States was critical as Washington and its key Asian allies confront the challenge of North Korea's missile and nuclear programs.
Tillerson was speaking before going in for talks with Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo, the start of his first trip to Asia since taking office.
"Trilateral cooperation is critical as we address North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs," Tillerson said, referring to Washington, Tokyo and Seoul.
