Presidents Emmanuel Macron of France and Xi Jinping of China signed a series of business and bilateral agreements on Monday, seeking to bolster their trade relationship as Paris presses Beijing to open the Chinese economy to more trade and investment.
The leaders signed a dozen deals in shipping, energy and aviation during Mr. Xi’s state visit to Paris, including the sale by aerospace giant Airbus SE of 300 aircraft to China Aviation Supplies Holding Co. The deal includes 290 A320 planes and ten A350s, the French presidency said.
“France wants to be a reliable, clear and consistent partner for China,” Mr. Macron said at a joint press conference in Paris.
