China expressed opposition to North Korea’s Sunday ballistic missile launch, amid growing concern in much of the world about leader Kim Jong-un's missile tests.
“China opposes the DPRK's (North Korea) missile launch in violation of Security Council resolutions,” Hua Chunying, spokeswoman with the Foreign Ministry of China, said Monday at a regular press briefing.
In response to a reporters’ inquiry on her comment to the U.N. meeting, Hua said the international community should uphold three points of consensus, which are to seek a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula, to fully follow U.N. Security Council’s resolutions, and to solve the nuclear issue through peaceful means.
