Jake Sotiriadis
Air Force intelligence officer
Jake Sotiriadis is an Air Force intelligence officer and PhD candidate in political science at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. His research focuses on the international politics of ideology, with an emphasis on Chinese Neo-Confucianism and Russian Neo-Eurasianism. He holds an MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, an MPhil from the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies, and has served at the Pentagon and the National Security Agency.

China is rapidly emerging as a major exporter of UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) technology and is developing command, control, communications, and intelligence networks in order to employ these systems in a broader offensive capacity. The future weaponization of these systems and their subsequent employment in disputed areas such as the Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands carries significant implications.
