Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Tuesday urged China and the United States to strengthen pragmatic cooperation in a bid to push forward bilateral relations.
Yang made the remarks during a phone call with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
In a phone conversation earlier this month, Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Donald Trump reached consensus on safeguarding the foundations of China-US relations and promoting bilateral exchanges, paving the way for the next stage of development in China-US relations, Yang noted.
